Dearest friends and followers, welcome back.
2021 marks the ten year anniversary of the original series, FamiComplex TV, which premiered on the now-defunct blip.tv. I want to take a moment here to thank each and every one of you that’s watched this nonsense from its humble (read: terrible) beginnings, as well as new subscribers who might have caught last year’s one-off Ghost Lion review. I’d also like to take this time to apologize for those camera angles. Yikes.
Today, I’m pleased to announce that a full year of YouTube content is being planned for 2021. I have been working on a number of things that may fill out the lineup, but for today, let’s talk about the evolution of the original FamiComplex Video Reviews series.
It has been a decade. This silly show has always been the core of the FamiComplex “brand” and will remain that way, but I think everyone would agree that it’s time for a change. To that end, “Channel 3” will be starting in January.
Channel 3 is the classic game review show I’ve always done, with a few changes in format. The goal is to have a series that’s more watchable, more tightly edited, and more in line with what my audience wants to see. And given that my audience generally runs from people in their 20’s to people in their 40’s, for the first time I’ll no longer be censoring myself. Of course, that’s not to say I’m turning into one of those “angry” reviewers, just that, well… knowing me, there’s bound to be at least 2 F-bombs dropped per episode. Will that be a problem? Frankly, I don’t give a fuck.
The release schedule can’t be too aggressive for now, both because I have a full time job and so that there’s space for additional FamiComplex projects in between. New episodes will be coming once a month, on the first Friday of each month. That means, of course, that Channel 3 will be premiering January 1st, 2021.
All of the older episodes will remain on my YouTube channel under the name of “FamiComplex Classic”… you know, if you like watching chubby nerds from bad angles with their faces way too close to the camera.
I genuinely hope you all enjoy this new direction, and with your feedback it will continue to evolve. Cheers to the end of the worst year many of us have ever seen; let’s make 2021 our best yet.
Grab your RF switch and keep your sets tuned to Channel 3.
